Business Mentors offer:

  • Business planning assistance for starting and existing small businesses
  • Help you find trustworthy referrals and professional industry associations
  • Offer useful networking connections to attend practical workshops, events, and professional development meetings and presentations on different business topics.

We have a number of mentoring programs that may assist:

Beyond Basic Mentor Program (New Start up to 2 years)

For those businesses less than 2 years old we have the Beyond the Basics mentoring program, this is for flexible mentoring where you choose your own pathway. This program is combined with a series of Business Skills Workshops and other incentives. The mentoring is focused around those who have recently started a small business or have been operating a small business up to 2 years.
Using a combination of mentoring and practical workshop sessions, the program assists to improve business skills and confidence, foster networking and successfully manage business growth.
Whats Involved?
Beyond the Basic Mentor Program runs over a period of up to 12 months and consists of a total of 5 hours of face to face mentoring which you can use when you require.
The components of this program are:
1. 5 hours mentoring over 12 month period (less if you like, you choose your pace)
2. Discounted rates to Beyond the Basics Business Skills Workshops
Cost to these workshop are normally $75 PP (Gst Inc) but as Beyond the Basics mentor participant you have the opportunity to take advantage of these workshops at $50 PP (Gst Inc).
3. Networking Event 2 hours
The Hub
These 2 hour hub workshops are offered in various locations across Sydney. They are designed to address topical and practical information that a small business operator can apply to their business now. They also provide an opportunity for participants to network with other small business operators.
Cost of these workshops are $25 PP (Gst Inc) as Beyond Basic mentor participant you receive two free vouchers to attend a Hub of your choice (Valid for 12 Months).
4. My Business Magazine posted to you each month
5. Membership of the Enterprise Hub our online community
6. Access to our Virtual Office and Hot Desks
We look after your office while you run your business
As Beyond Basic mentor participant you receive 10% discount on hire of meeting and training rooms Ask us about our serviced or virtual offices.

Young Entrepreneur Business Mentoring Program (12 months to less than 2 years)

The greatest asset a young business owner can have is a mentor to guide them through the experience of running a business.
The Young Entrepreneur Business Mentoring Program is an opportunity to:

Target issues which significantly impact your business development
Tackle key concerns relevant to small businesses operating in specific industry sectors.

The Young Entrepreneur Program offers long-lasting business skills, online discussion forums and sessions for relevant and real issues coupled with networking opportunities with other like-minded young business owners who are also just starting to grow their businesses.

Program Commences early 2012
Applications are now being accepted
Program components:
1. Workshops focusing on business growth are tailored to respond to the current and real issues that affect you as business owner.
Workshops are offered over 10 or more hours of interactive sessions.
2. Business mentoring assistance. Participants will be matched with an experienced business mentor, who offers an opportunity to discuss any issues that you may be facing. Mentoring may be individual, group mentoring or online. The mentor offers insights into what it is like to run a small business and provides guidance and direction.

Participants must be committed to making a difference in their business and be:
1. Aged 18-30 years
2. A business owner based in NSW
3. Own a small business for over 12 months
4. Able to identify a business goal or hurdle suitable of being addressed through this Program.
5. Prepared to work with a Mentor.

Women in Business Mentor program (12 months to less than 2 years)

This Mentor Program assists emerging women business owners to grow their business by linking them with experienced business professionals.
Using a combination of mentoring and practical sessions, the program assists women to improve their business skills and confidence, foster networking, and successfully manage business growth.
To be eligible for this program you must have been in business 12 months to less than 2 years.

Business Buddies- An issue based mentoring program (2 years plus)
Business Buddies is a service that assists established small businesses (2 years plus) with specific issues relating to future viability and growth.
The underlying aim of the Business Buddies program is to improve management skills of small business operators through the use of good business practice. Business Buddies volunteers assist small business clients by:
• providing information about good business practice
• assisting them to analyse their businesses and investigate opportunities for improvement
• identifying specific business issues and assisting them to find solutions
The Eastern Suburbs Young Entrepreneur Business Mentoring Program consists of mentoring, workshops and achievement acknowledgement for young business owners.
